CNC Programmer and Setup

The CNC Programmer and Setup role involves leading CNC programming and machine setup activities to ensure efficient and precise manufacturing operations. This position reports directly to the CEO and requires expertise in programming HAAS lathes, 3 and 5-axis Hurco vertical mills using Fusion 360 CAM and Centroid programming. Working regular shift hours, the lead CNC programmer will develop and manage all programming, support first piece setup, define tools, develop fixtures, support machine maintenance, and troubleshooting in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare CNC machines for production runs
• Support First-Article runs on complex parts
• Program CNC machines utilizing Fusion 360 CAM and Centroid software
• Program Hurco Vertical Mills, HAAS lathe and Centroid driven machines
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Select appropriate tooling for machining tasks
• Develop fixturing and work-holding as required
• Document processes and machine parameters accurately
• Inspect first-artcle parts
• Support, develop and implement safety initiatives
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality

 Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to safey climb step stools
• Ability to lift 25-lbs regularly, 50-lbs occasionally
• Physical agility to reach inside and around the machines for setup and maintenace

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in CNC programming and setup in precision high-variety manufacturing
• Proficiency in G-code programming and CNC machine setup
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Knowledge of machining processes and precision measurement
• Experience with Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective team collaboration skills
