POSITION SUMMARYWe are working with a Houston-area manufacturing company, and seeking a high-level CNC Programmer to develop and optimize multi-axis machining programs for complex, tight-tolerance components. The ideal candidate translates 3D models and drawings into efficient, reliable tool paths, proves out programs on the floor, and continuously drives down cycle times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, post-process, and optimize CNC programs and tool paths using either [Mastercam / Esprit / NX CAM / GibbsCAM ].
Interpret 3D models, engineering drawings, and GD&T to plan machining strategies, fixturing, and tooling.
Program multi-axis (3–5 axis) mills and/or lathes and prove out programs at the machine with machinists.
Create setup sheets, tool lists, and process documentation.
Reduce cycle times and improve efficiency through program and process optimization.
Support first-article inspection and troubleshoot machining and quality issues.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and the shop floor to improve manufacturability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment.
Proficiency with CAM software ([Mastercam / Esprit / NX]) and multi-axis programming.
Strong CAD model, blueprint, and GD&T interpretation.
Solid understanding of tooling, materials, speeds and feeds, and machining strategies.
Hands-on machining background sufficient to prove out and edit programs at the control.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5-axis programming experience and experience with exotic materials (titanium, Inconel, stainless).
Experience in an AS9100 / aerospace environment.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and lean manufacturing principles.
