Constellation Search Group is looking for a CNC Programmer for a full-time direct hire position. The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming and optimizing CNC machines for high-precision steel components. This role requires extensive machining knowledge, proficiency with CAD/CAM software, and a strong commitment to driving continuous improvement within the machine shop.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement CNC programs for lathes and mills.
  • Program nesting for plasma table cut operations.
  • Optimize existing CNC programs to enhance efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot toolpath issues, adjust offsets, and make in-process corrections on live programs.
  • Determine tooling requirements for various machining applications, incorporating both existing and new parts.
  • Assist with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, adjustments, and calibrations of CNC machinery.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Scheduling, and Engineering to enhance product manufacturability and production efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; trade school or advanced manufacturing education preferred.
  • 4-6 years of CNC setup and programming experience with lathes and mills.
  • 4-6 years of programming experience using Mastercam.
  • Ability to read and interpret Manufacturing Engineering Drawings.
  • Hands-on machining experience; lathe and mill experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting CNC equipment.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Solidworks drafting software.
  • Ability to use precision measurement instruments to inspect parts for quality conformance.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Regular exposure to standard machine shop conditions; PPE required.
