Job Description

Job Title: CNC Lathe Programmer
Location: Gardena CA
Shift: 2nd Shift / Flexible Based on Experience

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $42.00 - $47.00 hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer with a strong background in CNC lathe programming to support a high-volume aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing, editing, and optimizing CNC programs to drive efficiency, precision, and repeatability on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on programmer with deep lathe experience who can contribute with minimal training in a fast-paced production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines
  • Edit and improve existing programs to enhance efficiency and cycle times
  • Support setup, prove-out, and first article runs on the shop floor
  • Collaborate closely with machinists and engineering teams
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues in real time
  • Ensure all programs meet tight tolerance and quality standards

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience (lathe-focused)
  • Strong background in CNC lathe machining and setup
  • Ability to write and edit G-code programs independently
  • Experience supporting production environments and prove-outs
  • Proficiency reading blueprints and GD&T

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Okuma CNC controls (highly preferred)
  • Experience with CAM software such as Esprit, Mastercam, or Fusion 360
  • Background in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing
  • Experience with multi-axis lathe environments (X, Y, Z)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong lathe programmers (not mill-heavy backgrounds)
  • Candidates who can hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up
  • Hands-on programmers comfortable working on the shop floor, not just offline
  • Individuals who understand both programming and machining processes

Why Join Us

  • Work with industry-leading equipment (Okuma)
  • High-impact role supporting critical aerospace components
  • Stable, production-driven environment
  • Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and efficiency gains

We are open to candidates from various CAM backgrounds and will provide training on internal systems; however, strong CNC lathe programming experience is essential.
