Programmer / Lathe Operator – Direct Hire (1st Shift)
Starting at $22/hr+ Based on Experience
Schedule: 5:00am Start | Significant Overtime Available
We are seeking a skilled Programmer/Lathe Operator to join our Machine Shop team on a direct-hire basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on machining, programming, problem-solving, and contributing to a high-performance manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints for machining operations.
- Program G-Code and develop CNC lathe/mill programs using MasterCam.
- Operate and set up most CNC and manual machines within the shop.
- Understand tooling concepts and select appropriate tooling for machining operations.
- Support scheduling of CNC machines and operator assignments when needed.
- Review and interpret internal reports including scheduling spreadsheets, backlog reports, and Guardian system data.
- Assist the Machine Shop Supervisor with special projects such as:
- 3PM crash protection software
- Renishaw probing
- New and trial tooling initiatives
- Participate in safety and incident review meetings as required.
- Perform direct labor and other tasks as needed to support department operations.
