    Job Description

    Shape Precision on 2nd & 3rd Shift

Step into a typical shift where you’ll transform detailed blueprints into flawless components. You’ll load or write G/M code at the control, dial in setups on both CNC lathes and mills, and verify every feature against GD&T. With Fanuc or comparable controls at your fingertips, you’ll optimize feeds and speeds from CAM, validate dimensions with micrometers and bore gauges, and tap the CMM when tight tolerances demand it. Between cycles, you’ll perform tool changes, light maintenance, and occasionally move to EDM for difficult geometries or hardened materials. Throughout, you’ll document run data, apply lean practices, and jump in with assembly to ensure perfect fit and finish.

    What You’ll Do

    • Operate and set up CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc or similar controls to achieve precise, complex parts.
    • Program at the machine or via CAM to streamline machining strategies and cycle times.
    • Interpret blueprints and GD&T to confirm features meet exact design intent.
    • Set tooling, fixtures, and workholding; establish offsets and verify with calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges; use CMMs as needed.
    • Perform routine maintenance, swap tooling, and troubleshoot variances to reduce downtime.
    • Apply EDM techniques when parts or materials call for it.
    • Practice lean manufacturing to improve flow, minimize waste, and reinforce safety.
    • Assist with part assembly when required to ensure correct fit and finish.
    • Record machine settings, in-process checks, and production details for full traceability.

    What You Bring

    • Hands-on background with CNC mills and lathes in a production setting.
    • Proficiency in G-code/M-code and experience with CAM; familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD tools is a plus.
    • Strong print reading and GD&T skills; confident with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
    • Exposure to EDM, plastics injection molding environments, welding methods, and power tools is beneficial.
    • Quick diagnostic ability at the control; Fanuc experience preferred.
    • Solid math for dimensions, tolerances, and feeds/speeds; lean mindset appreciated.
    • Competence in tooling and fixture setup; effective with common hand tools for adjustments.
    • Comfort working 2nd or 3rd shift in a fast-moving, high-precision environment with strong attention to detail.
