CNC Programmer / Operator

Responsibilities

• Manufacture parts, sub-assemblies, and units according to engineering drawings, prints, and instructions.
• Set up, operate, and program CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Operate manual equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, chop saws, and band saws.
• Perform basic CNC programming (G-code/M-code).
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assemble components using hand tools and fabrication techniques.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings.
• Ensure compliance with geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and shop math principles.
• Maintain inventory and organize shop equipment and tools.
• Record labor and job tracking data in ERP systems.
• Operate cranes and forklifts (with certification).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Adapt to varying production requirements and custom fabrication needs.

• Experience operating, setting up, and programming CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Strong understanding of shop math and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Experience with CNC programming (G-code, M-code) required.
• Familiarity with machining tools and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and use measuring tools (imperial and metric).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Basic computer skills required (ERP systems experience preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Conveyor system experience preferred.
