Own the cut. Control the process.

If you like turning complex drawings into flawless parts, this CNC Programmer–Operator role is for you. You’ll plan, program, set up, and run multi‑axis mills and lathes—and you’ll be the guardian of quality, safety, documentation, and machine health along the way.

What you’ll tackle

  • Review work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to plan machining operations.
  • Program CNC mills and lathes: set zeros/references, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements using math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove out programs.
  • Set up equipment: install/adjust three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicate vises; tram heads; load stock.
  • Run operations: turning, facing, drilling, grooving, and other cutting processes to meet specifications.
  • Verify quality: use micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to inspect parts; document production and quality logs.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot: detect malfunctions, adjust or reprogram controls, sharpen/replace tools.
  • Maintain the shop: complete preventive maintenance, follow manufacturer instructions, request repairs, and manage equipment/supplies.

Standards you live by

  • Attendance: Be on time, prepared, and present to complete assigned duties with minimal unscheduled leave.
  • Quality: Deliver parts right the first time to meet customer requirements.
  • Safety: Wear required PPE and follow all safety rules, procedures, and policies.
  • Accountability: Own your output and pursue excellence. No supervisory responsibilities.

Compliance expectations

  • Follow all procedures, work instructions, and operational processes.
  • Immediately contain and notify management of any nonconforming product.
  • Recognize that non‑compliance may cause customer rejections, internal scrap, shipment delays, personal injury, and environmental impact.

What you bring

  • 2+ years in a machine shop.
  • Clear verbal and written communication with teammates.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work independently to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Background in metal fabrication, machining, and tooling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; fast and accurate under tight timelines.
  • Planning, scheduling, coordination, and problem‑solving strengths; analytical approach.

Environment & physical demands

  • Manufacturing setting with loud noise, fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Possible exposure to chemicals; see accessible Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazards.
  • Moderate temperature changes during an eight‑hour shift.
  • Regular talking/hearing; standing, walking, handling, reaching; climbing/balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Lift/move up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Vision: close, color, and ability to adjust focus.
