Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides programming support for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machine tools. Ensures parts conform to dimensional specifications and equipment achieves throughput efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides programming support for machining parts & tools on numerically controlled machines by suggesting/ implementing program edit or re-wright of machine instruction.

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes using Esprit Cam software

  • Create part setup, fixturing, machining strategy, order of operations, tool selection, speed/feed process parameter selections, etc. for new products.

  • Show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths by preparing set up sheets and tool lists

  • Support operators during first article runs and process stabilization.

  • Analyze proposed changes in methods and materials and contribute to continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing / production activities

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing technical publications

  • Support the team by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of related trade school program, AA, or equivalent external in CNC Programming.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through previous four years of directly related experience at the NC Programmer level.

  • Thorough knowledge and proficiency in key numerical control programming principles, concepts, and techniques.

  • Full knowledge of CNC programming language.

  • Thorough knowledge of N/C tooling, proper speeds and feeds for the material to be machined and proper machine sequences. General knowledge of aerospace industry and machine shop operations.

  • Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods to manufacturing functions (e.g. process mapping, design‐to‐production automation). Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Ability to research and analyze data and develop recommendations or resolve problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Ability to work with only general work direction and instructions regarding the scope of assignments, determine priority and order of assignments.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals.

  • Ability to manually program N/C machines.

  • May require ability to use standard business software applications and/or specialized design, data analysis, or database tools.

  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal‐setting, performance feedback, and self‐development activities.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $29.83/hr to $49.71/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
