We are seeking a skilled CNC/Originating Operator & Tool Service to join our team. This hands-on role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment, as well as maintaining and managing tooling for manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Operator (primary role):
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (e.g., Haas Lathe ST-20Y) using Mastercam and G-code.
Interpret technical drawings and blueprints for machining operations.
Conduct first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
Optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Tooling & Originating Operations:
Operate and maintain H-frame hydraulic press (training provided).
Qualify, assemble, and kit tooling for cold nut formers.
Manage tooling inventory; issue, receive, and track tooling with database systems.
Perform changeovers per production schedule.
Prepare material for wire draw machines.
Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
Perform basic maintenance, tightening/loosening of parts, use hand/power tools.
Accurately document production, S.P.C. data, material verifications, and ERP entries.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of CNC programming and operation experience.
Proficiency in Mastercam and G-code programming.
Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot tooling/machining issues.
Experience with measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, etc.).
Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
Solid math and computer skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Able to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing, bending) in a production environment.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Haas ST-20Y CNC machines
Familiarity with carbon steels (e.g., 1045 & 4142 Prehard)
Machining threads for fastener products
Fork certification
Mastercam and G-code programming: 1 year (Required)
