Salary: $75,000.00 per year

Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6 AM - 3:30 PM & Friday, 6 AM - 10 AM

Your Daily Mission:

  • Program, optimize, and standardize CNC programs for complex multi-tasking (mill/turn, multi-axis, live tooling) machines using Mastercam
  • Turn engineering drawings, GD&T, and model-based definitions into efficient, repeatable machining strategies
  • Keep production running at peak performance by improving cycle time, spindle uptime, tool life, and overall throughput
  • Support new product launches, engineering changes, and ongoing production improvements
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues on the shop floor to keep jobs moving
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts that reduce scrap, variation, setup time, and waste
  • Support a high-performance machining environment focused on quality, precision, and delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Create, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for complex multi-tasking machines using Mastercam
  • Develop setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and programming standards
  • Design and optimize tooling and workholding solutions with Manufacturing Engineering and other teams
  • Prove out new programs on the shop floor and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues
  • Validate first-piece inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications
  • Optimize post processors to reduce manual code edits and improve programming efficiency
  • Drive improvements in cycle time, tool life, scrap reduction, and production efficiency
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering change implementation
  • Maintain tooling documentation, libraries, and tool life management systems
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives (setup reduction, waste elimination, variation reduction)
  • Develop and maintain programming and setup standards
  • Train and mentor machinists, manufacturing engineers, and junior programmers
  • Provide technical leadership on the shop floor
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards
  • Support automation and lights-out machining initiatives where applicable
  • Maintain adherence to regulated quality systems (AS9100 / ISO where applicable)

Requirements:

  • 5-10+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience programming multi-tasking CNC machines (mill/turn, multi-axis, live tooling platforms)
  • Advanced proficiency with Mastercam (mill, lathe, multi-axis, mill/turn modules)
  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and model-based definitions
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance components (aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools, fixturing, materials, and machining best practices
  • Competency in metrology and first-piece inspection validation
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • High reliability, attendance, and punctuality standards
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must pass federal background check and drug screening
  • High school diploma or GED required (Engineering degree preferred)
