    Description

    Responsibilities

    • Create and edit CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers.
    • Develop machining strategies, tool paths, and setup documentation for complex components.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
    • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
    • Support machinists during machine setup, prove-outs, and production runs.
    • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and quality issues as they arise.
    • Optimize existing programs to improve cycle times, quality, and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on new product launches and process improvements.
    • Ensure all programs meet quality, safety, and production requirements.
    • Maintain organized program files, tooling records, and process documentation.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Hands-on experience programming true simultaneous 5-axis machining centers.
    • Proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam, Tebis, HyperMill, NX, Fusion 360, or similar.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
    • Strong understanding of cutting tools, workholding, feeds, speeds, and machining practices.
    • Experience with machine setup, prove-outs, and process optimization.
    • Familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, or similar CNC controls.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, or precision machining industries.
    • Exposure to automation, probing systems, and CMM inspection equipment.
    • Experience supporting new machine installations and process development.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
