CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGIES, LLCJob Description FormJOB TITLE: CNC ProgrammerDEPARTMENT: CNC Programming, Reports to Programming ManagerEFFECTIVE DATE: May 5, 2022Job Description:CNC Programmers use computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software to generate toolpath and NC programs to manufactureparts from customer supplied engineering and design requirements.Responsibilities: Review customer supplied engineering and devise cutting strategy to manufacture parts efficiently and repeatably Work with CAD designer and tooling designer to design holding fixtures as needed for manufacturing Generate safe, efficient toolpath to optimize cycle time, tool life, and machine and operator safety Review NC code and programs to ensure accuracy and safety prior to customer submittal Create detailed setup and in-process inspection documentation for operator/machinist use Work with customers to troubleshoot programs and toolpath when issues arise at the machineCNC programmers report to the CNC Programming Manager. They use various CAD/CAM software programs such asEsprit, Catia, SolidWorks, etc. to generate tool designs and toolpath for manufacturing needs on CNC mills and lathes.Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Proficient reading, writing and arithmetic skills including geometry and trigonometry Proficient in general Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. Proficient in Esprit, Catia or other CAM systems used by CET In depth knowledge of tool holding, work holding, speeds and feeds for various tool and workpiece materials Advanced knowledge of modern machining strategies and techniques Thorough understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation Must be able to troubleshoot programming or setup issues with customers to eliminate machining issues such aschatter, repeatability, crashes, or tool life issues Strong written and verbal communications skills with coworkers and customers through conversations, e-mails, orwritten work instructionsThe working conditions are generally normal for an office environment. Work will occasionally require travelling on-site to acustomer's location.
