Picture yourself receiving a new job traveler: you interpret the print, plan the setup, generate an efficient program, and guide the first piece from raw stock to inspected component—safely, cleanly, and on time.
Role snapshot
- Author and optimize CNC programs for diverse machining operations.
- Own machine setup and operation, ensuring correct tooling/fixtures are in place.
- Conduct precise inspections so every part meets the drawing’s requirements.
- Team up with engineers and production to improve methods and reduce waste.
- Troubleshoot chatter, tolerance drift, and other programming/machining issues.
- Record all programming updates and machine setting changes for traceability.
- Work safely and maintain a neat, organized workstation at all times.
What it takes to succeed
- Experience as a CNC Machining Programmer or an equivalent role.
- Fluency in G-code and M-code; strong knowledge of machining and tooling.
- Confidence reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a knack for solving complex problems.
- CAD/CAM familiarity is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification preferred.
