CNC Set-Up Technician
We are a growing manufacturing company seeking a skilled CNC Set-Up Technician. This is a full-time position with opportunities for advancement. Paid time off and benefits are offered after a probation period.
Job Responsibilities & Required Experience
Machine Setup & Operation (Required):
Set up CNC machines according to job specifications
Load and align fixtures, tools, and raw materials
Calibrate machines for accurate cutting, drilling, and milling
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders
Ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently
Quality & Inspection (Required):
Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Adjust machine settings to meet tolerances and specifications
Identify and troubleshoot machine or material issues
Maintain accurate setup and production records
Maintenance & Safety (Required):
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment
Keep work area clean and organized
Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors
Preferred Additional Experience (2 or more):
Programming or modifying CNC machine programs
Experience with multiple types of CNC machines (lathe, mill, router)
Familiarity with G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM software
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
1–3 years of CNC machine setup experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
