Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Wabtec is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes to machine precision components while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. Education Requirements

• Associate degree or technical certification preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience setting up and operating CNC Mills or Lathes preferred
• Working knowledge of G & M code
• HAAS or DOOSAN experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, and process documentation
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
• Knowledge of GD&T preferred
• Ability to convert between metric and standard measurements

Job Duties

• Set up and operate CNC Mill and Lathe machines
• Select and install tooling according to machining requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, process plans, program sheets, and fixture diagrams
• Load and modify machine programs as needed
• Make tooling and programming adjustments to maintain part quality
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Load and unload parts from machining equipment
• Obtain first-piece approval and monitor production quality
• Operate drill presses and other machine shop equipment
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
• Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
• Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Set-up Operator.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.

What You Will Do

As a CNC Set-up Operator you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.
