CNC Set Up Operator

Position Summary

Atlas Fibre Company is looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Operator to join our second-shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating Okuma LB3000 and LB4000 lathes, making necessary offsets and tool changes, and inspecting completed parts to ensure they meet drawing requirements.

The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and takes their work seriously.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Okuma LB3000 and LB4000 CNC lathes

• Read and interpret engineering drawings

• Make machine and tooling offsets as needed

• Change cutting tools when necessary

• Inspect completed parts to confirm they meet drawing requirements

• Use precision measuring and inspection tools, including:- Micrometers

  • Calipers
  • Drop indicators
  • Height gauges
  • Thread gauges

• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the machining process

• Arrive on time and complete assigned work responsibly

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting up and operating CNC lathes
• Hands-on experience with Okuma LB3000 and/or Okuma LB4000 lathes
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Ability to make offsets and perform tool changes
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and thread gauges
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Dependable, punctual, and serious about work
• Available to work second shift

• Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology
• Machine Setups for Production Runs

Machines & technologies you'll use:

• Turning Lathe
• CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC) (Okuma)
