CNC Setup Operator Duties and responsibilities
• Reads Programs, Identify Errors, Sets Up Machines, Performs Offsets on turning machine centers
• Selects appropriate work holding and secures the workpiece in the CNC
• Loads and secures cutting tools
• Set up and operation of machine and observes cutting operation
• Compares completed workpiece with blueprint with regards to specific metric measurements based on pre-determined inspection cycle for the product
• Alerts lead of any non-compliant completed workpiece prior to continuing production
• Accurately completes required quality and production control documents
• Setting new tooling and offsetting tool/program as required
• Repeats the operation of the machine to complete the job order
• Notifies lead of any unusual occurrences with the machine, tooling or workpiece
• Performs Basic Machine Maintenance Functions
• Follows all safety procedures regarding the proper operation of the machine
• Sets up and operates CMM with existing programs
• Performs other duties as may be required or assigned
• Identifies Errors
• Preset Tools
• Check for tool wear, breakage and/or tool life monitoring system
• Deburring
• Understands all aspects of Deburring
• Ability to perform the functions of Machine Operator.
**Qualifications
**
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience
• And/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to set up and operator CNC machining centers Language Skills
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Ability to write short correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group Mathematical Skills
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Ability to perform these operations using English and Metric units of measure or currency, as well as converting between the two Reasoning Ability
• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Computer Skills Basic computer skills
