CNC Setup Operator – Shelby Township, MI
Pay Range: $20-$28/hour

st shift M-F, 7:00am – 3:30pm
90 days contract-to-hire position
Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced CNC Setup Person and Production Operator with expertise in turning, milling, and saw cutting. You'll set up machines for production runs and operate them to produce precision parts to specification. The role calls for a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to keep pace in a fast-moving shop. Based on performance, this person will have the opportunity to lead the CNC department.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC lathes, mills, and production saws
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate production
- Monitor machine operation and adjust settings to maintain quality and meet production targets
- Edit G&M codes as necessary
- Inspect finished parts against quality standards and specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during production
- Perform routine machine maintenance to keep equipment running at its best
- Work with the team to improve production processes and workflow
- Keep a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proved experience as a CNC machine setup person and operator
- Proficiency with CNC turning, milling, and saw cutting machines
- Strong understanding of machining processes and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Basic shop math and measurement skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessary
- (Preferred) Experience with Samsung, Fuji, or Okuma machines and Fanuc controls
- (Preferred) CNC programming experience
- (Preferred) Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques
