CNC Setup Technician Dual Spindle Lathe
Shift: 1st, (7am-3:30pm)
Pay: $26-$35/hr (Based on Experience)
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Technician with experience operating and setting up dual spindle lathes in a precision machining environment.
Job Description:
- Perform complete setups on CNC dual spindle lathes, including main and sub-spindle synchronization
- Load, verify, and prove out CNC programs (G-code) while ensuring correct revisions are used
- Set tooling, work offsets, wear offsets, and part zeroes
- Install tooling, holders, collets, chucks, bar feeders, and part catchers
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency
- Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machining issues
- Optimize feeds, speeds, cycle times, and tool life while maintaining part quality
- Assist with process improvements, setup standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with programmers to refine CNC programs and setup documentation
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Perform inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and comparators
- Ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC setup experience on lathes
- Dual spindle lathe experience preferred
- Strong understanding of G-code and CNC controls
- Ability to independently set up complex jobs from blueprints and setup sheets
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, inserts, and machining processes
