We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Setup Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of independently performing complete machine setups while maintaining high quality standards.
Job Description:
Set tooling, offsets, tool heights, and work coordinates
Configure and support bar feeders and part-handling systems
Perform first-article inspections and make necessary adjustments
Monitor machine performance and production quality throughout runs
Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and inserts
Optimize feeds, speeds, and tool life for Swiss machining applications
Troubleshoot tooling, setup, and machining issues
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation
Maintain stable production processes and tight tolerances
Read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, and GD&T requirements
Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, pin gauges, and bore gauges
Verify parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years of CNC Swiss-type lathe setup experience
Strong understanding of Swiss machining principles and guide bushing operations
Ability to independently set up jobs from blueprints and setup sheets
