CNC Tooling Crib Specialist

At Nelson Engineering, an established aerospace manufacturer, your work keeps precision manufacturing on schedule and on spec. Step into a fast-paced tooling support role where your craft enables flawless CNC mill operations.

A day in the life

You arrive before the first spindle turns. You prep and assemble toolholders for the CNC mill department, using a Zoller presetter and heat-shrink system to dial in accuracy and runout. You confirm precise tool length offsets, stage job-specific tooling boxes, and keep the crib impeccably organized so machinists can move from setup to first article without delays. As tools return, you inspect for wear, missing hardware, and suitability for the next run—sharpening carbide and cobalt drills on the Optima drill grinder when needed. Throughout the day, you maintain inventory, issue and track tooling, update setup documentation, and purchase what the team needs to stay productive.
