Role Summary

We’re hiring a CNC Turning Department Supervisor to lead a compact production team building aerospace/aviation parts. You’ll coordinate people, programs, and processes—owning setups and operations on multi-axis CNC lathes with sub-spindles, performing basic Mastercam edits, and ensuring every work order flows smoothly across two shifts.

Compensation, Schedule, and Benefits

  • Pay: $30–$40 per hour, DOE
  • Location: Sumner, WA
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st shift
  • Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire

Core Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 2-axis and multi-axis CNC lathes with sub-spindle.
  • Lead a 1–3 person production team and manage the day-to-day schedule over two shifts.
  • Drive efficiency, quality, and accuracy throughout the department.
  • Ensure machines are producing within spec; respond quickly to issues to maintain uptime.
  • Plan and organize fixturing and tooling aligned to work order requirements.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision metrology; coach operators and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with Programming, Tooling, the Production Scheduler, and the General Manager for smooth throughput.
  • Create and modify basic CNC lathe programs in Mastercam.
  • Maintain and update setup sheets to reflect best practices.
  • Oversee labor tickets, time cards, and all work order documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace; enforce PPE and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a machine shop.
  • 5+ years of hands-on CNC lathe machining.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication.
  • Positive, team-first mindset; leads by example with excellent attendance and time management.
  • Able to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
