What you’ll tackle
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Star CNC Swiss lathes to produce high-precision medical implants.
Perform tool changes, wear compensation, and machine offsets to maintain exacting specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions to confirm compliance with customer requirements.
Inspect in-process and first-piece parts using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators; complete first-piece inspection logs.
Execute routine and daily preventive maintenance (P.M.) and document maintenance records and work orders.
Adhere to ID & traceability protocols and follow strict quality control procedures.
Work with engineering and quality to refine programs, tooling, and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized 5S work area.
The broader scope
You will also operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate parts according to customer specifications—expanding your impact beyond Swiss turning as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
3+ years operating and setting up CNC lathe machines.
1+ year of blueprint reading experience.
1+ year applying GD&T with hands-on measurement using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
