Leave the world a better place than we found it.Co‑op or Intern ResponsibilitiesEstimatingDevelop quantity take‑offs based on project plansReview subcontractor quotationsReview project plans and specificationsAssist in subcontractor solicitations for proposalsAttend and host project walk‑throughsAssistant EngineerUpdate field office drawings as neededAssist in running and documenting weekly project meetingsWork with field personnel on daily safety inspectionsAssist in managing RFI processWork with subcontractors on schedule updatesAssist in the management of change ordersResearch and estimate costs relating to work orders/change ordersReport development and updatesAssistant Superintendent or Field EngineerAssist in running field foreman meetings and toolbox talksMake weekly look‑ahead and monthly baseline schedule updatesGenerate daily safety inspections and write‑upsManage and coordinate subcontractors' location and timing of workAssist in managing submittals and shop drawingsAssist in gathering field conditions information for RFC's/issuesAssist in resolving field logistics issuesDo you have what it takes?College students currently enrolled in a 2‑ or 4‑year university pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.It is strongly encouraged that students who intern with Independence Construction plan to do so for at least 2 terms (not necessarily consecutive).Co‑ops/Interns are required to work 40+ hour weeks, preferably when the student is taking a semester off from school.A degree of travel is required for the internship.We are currently looking to fill Co‑op/Internship positions for the Fall 2026 semester.#J-18808-Ljbffr
