Co-op, Line Operation - Operational Performance (Fall 2026)

United States, Georgia, Atlanta

Flight Ops

17-Jun-2026

Ref #: 32992

How you''ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

As an Operational Performance & Projects Co-op within Delta's Flight Operations organization, you will support the Line Operations team through data‑driven analysis, cross‑functional project work, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and the pilot experience.

This role sits at the intersection of operational analytics, project support, and internal consulting. You will contribute to ad‑hoc and strategic initiatives across Line Operations while also providing day‑to‑day analytical and operational support for the Flight Crew Reporting (FCR) program. Through hands‑on exposure to real operational challenges, you'll help translate data and frontline feedback into actionable insights that improve how we operate.

This is a full‑time, in‑person co‑op position based in Atlanta, GA, requiring three alternating semesters.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Data Analysis & Insights

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing operational performance data (e.g., D0, A0, fuel burn, taxi time, latency, safety indicators).
  • Help identify trends, themes, and improvement opportunities to support operational decision‑making.
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and recurring reports using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Participate in pre‑ and post‑implementation analysis to understand the impact of new initiatives.
  • Translate findings into clear summaries and visualizations for operational partners and leadership.

Project & Program Support

  • Support ad‑hoc and ongoing projects across Line Operations, including process improvements, operational studies, and reporting enhancements.
  • Assist with project planning activities such as defining scope, timelines, and stakeholder touchpoints.
  • Participate in working sessions, stand‑ups, and progress reviews; document notes, decisions, and action items.
  • Help prepare presentations, problem statements, and data summaries for leadership and stakeholder reviews.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to gather inputs and support implementation efforts.

Flight Crew Reporting (FCR) - Program Support

  • Assist with monitoring the day‑to‑day health of the FCR program, including queue triage and backlog hygiene.
  • Support analysis of FCR data to identify reporting trends, themes, and recurring issues.
  • Review report closeouts for clarity and proper categorization; escalate broader patterns as appropriate.
  • Gather pilot feedback related to usability, reporting friction, and workflow challenges, and help translate insights into improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain basic FCR documentation such as change logs, known‑issues lists, and communication drafts.
  • Collaborate with divisional partners (e.g., ACS, IFS, OCC, TOC) to support alignment and cross‑departmental improvements.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Work with teams across Flight Operations and other operational organizations to gather data, context, and requirements.
  • Assist in preparing materials for internal meetings, briefings, and performance reviews.
  • Help draft internal communications such as performance summaries, newsletters, and operational updates.
  • Document methodologies, findings, and lessons learned to support knowledge sharing.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • The Co-op position requires a candidate to be enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore or above) that has successfully completed a minimum of 30 semester hours.
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be able to maintain the minimum GPA.
  • Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational, and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
  • This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1-2 semesters.
  • Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the schedule below:
  • Fall 2026 - 1st rotation
  • Summer 2027 - 2nd rotation
  • Spring 2028 - 3rd rotation
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a quantitative, analytical, business, engineering, aviation, or technology‑related field, or another discipline with a demonstrated interest in operations, analytics, or process improvement.
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university and available to complete three alternating co‑op semesters prior to graduation.
  • Interest in data analysis, operational performance, and how complex systems work.
  • Comfortable working with data in Excel; willingness to learn additional tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas and findings.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Curiosity, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn through hands‑on experience.
  • Passion for aviation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking, and styles.
  • At least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Coursework or experience involving data analysis, statistics, operations, or process improvement.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or basic SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience working on team‑based projects, internships, or student organizations.
  • Interest in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, or internal consulting‑style work.
  • Ability to organize information and develop clear, concise presentations.
