Job Description
Our Development & Permits department is seeking a dynamic, motivated Building Code Compliance Inspector who enjoys spending time in the field.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires high school diploma or GED/HSE and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education in urban planning, environmental health/studies, engineering, or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of one year of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver's license with a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards. Special skills or equipment certification may be required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience within the field of building construction of residential and commercial structures.
