Property Code Enforcement Officer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Contract & Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $45-$55/hr (based on experience)
Overview
We are seeking experienced Property Code Enforcement Officers to support municipal operations throughout Los Angeles. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations within residential communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of residential properties to ensure compliance with local codes and ordinances
- Investigate complaints related to property maintenance, zoning, and safety violations
- Issue notices of violation and follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed
- Document findings, maintain accurate case records, and prepare reports
- Communicate with property owners, tenants, and contractors regarding compliance requirements
- Coordinate with city departments and agencies as needed
- Attend hearings or provide documentation for enforcement actions when required
Required Qualifications
* Active ICC certifications in Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical, or a Commercial Combination Inspector certification
* Combination Inspector credentials strongly preferred
* Experience performing inspections in a municipal or jurisdictional environment
* Demonstrated experience on large commercial or public infrastructure projects
* Strong working knowledge of California Building Standards Codes
* Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering plans, and technical calculations
* Valid California Class C Driver's License
Must successfully complete and pass a Live Scan background check prior to start.
Preferred Qualification:
- CASp Certification (desired but not required)
