Summary
Under limited supervision, municipal, land development, and property maintenance codes to support public health, safety, and property standards; conducts field inspections to identify violations; issues warnings, notices, and citations; educates the public on code requirements; coordinates with internal departments and external partners to achieve compliance; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Code Enforcement Officer I High school diploma or GED (education will be verified using the Education Requirements listed below) and two (2) years of experience in customer service, public-facing roles, or other positions that involves direct communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution with members of the public, is required. This experience may come from roles in hospitality, call centers, utilities, housing, community outreach, or similar settings where strong interpersonal skills are essential.
One (1) year of experience in enforcement, regulatory, inspection, or compliance-related work including but not limited to code enforcement, planning or zoning assistance, building permitting or inspection, construction or site maintenance, property management or HOA enforcement, parking or traffic compliance, regulatory inspections such as food service or environmental health, loss prevention, internal audits, or lease enforcement and collections property management firms, is required.
Must obtain the Florida Association of Code Enforcement (F.A.C.E) Level I Certification within one (1) year of employment.
A current and Valid Florida drive's license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver's license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
