Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ASME Code Welder to join a growing fabrication team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for producing high-quality code welds on pressure-containing components while ensuring all work complies with ASME standards, engineering specifications, and strict quality requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong code welding experience, is proficient with GMAW and FCAW welding processes, and consistently produces welds that meet inspection and customer standards.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience as an ASME Code Welder required
Strong knowledge of ASME welding codes and procedures
Proficiency with GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (Flux Core) welding processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and welding specifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing code-quality welds
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform welding in accordance with ASME codes and project specifications
Complete root passes using GMAW (MIG) and fill/cap passes using FCAW (Flux Core)
Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality, structural, and safety standards
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding procedures
Maintain productivity while meeting strict quality requirements
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company safety procedures
Follow all company welding procedures, quality standards, and OSHA safety regulations
Assist with additional fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
2G Single-Bevel Weld Test
GMAW (MIG) Root Pass
FCAW (Flux Core) Fill and Cap
Preferred Qualifications
Previous pressure vessel or ASME fabrication experience
Experience working in heavy industrial, oil & gas, or process piping environments
Familiarity with welding inspection procedures and code compliance
Ability to work independently in a production-focused environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in multiple welding positions throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate welding equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
Heavy industrial manufacturing and fabrication facility
Exposure to welding equipment, heavy steel materials, overhead cranes, heat, sparks, and fabrication machinery
Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, precision, and quality workmanship
