Position Summary
The Warehouse Coder is responsible for accurately coding, labeling, and identifying finished products, containers, and shipments according to customer specifications and company standards. This position plays a critical role in inventory accuracy, product traceability, and on-time shipment performance. The Warehouse Coder works closely with production, quality, and shipping teams to ensure all products are properly marked and ready for distribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply product labels, barcodes, date codes, lot numbers, and customer-specific identification markings to finished goods. Verify coding information for accuracy before products are released for shipment. Operate coding, labeling, and printing equipment safely and efficiently. Inspect labels and codes to ensure legibility and compliance with customer requirements. Maintain accurate records of coded products and inventory transactions. Work with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handheld scanners as required. Coordinate with production and quality departments regarding coding discrepancies. Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts. Support loading, unloading, and movement of materials as business needs require. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required. Experience Previous warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or inventory experience preferred. Experience using scanners, labeling equipment, or warehouse software is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic computer skills. Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work orders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to identify and resolve labeling or coding errors. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed. Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions Warehouse and production facility environment. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production schedules.
