Who we are looking for

We are hiring an Assistant Vice President (AVP) to be a GD Collateral subject matter expert, participating in workstreams to build digital asset operations within State Street's infrastructure. You will be responsible for sharing knowledge and expertise around current operational workflows, maintaining alignment to GD Collateral leadership, escalating any concerns to functional leadership, acquiring approvals of new models with functional leadership, and maintaining alignment with digital asset operations leadership. We expect this candidate to have a risk excellent mindset and be proficient establishing an effective control environment. The ideal candidate should understand digital asset concepts (blockchain knowledge, understanding of digital asset types, decentralized finance, tokenization, etc). At a minimum this candidate should have intellectual curiosity to learn about digital asset servicing. This role will have a dual reporting line to GD Collateral leadership and digital asset operations leadership.

What you will be responsible for

As a GD Collateral Assistant Vice President you will

  • Participate in workstreams as a collateral subject matter expert for digital asset operations across a portfolio of value streams to deliver digital asset capabilities

  • Foster alignment between value streams, manage interdependencies, and deliver value at an organizational level

  • Establish risk control procedures to ensure risk excellence across all capabilities

  • Partner with testing teams to develop, test, and enhance capability development in UAT and Production

  • Manage risks, resources, and stakeholder communications across the workstream

  • Provide regular communication and reporting updates to ensure full transparency and clarity of workstream delivery to both the functional leadership teams and digital asset operations leadership teams

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Experience within custody environment, including systems used, process flows, day-to-day operational activities

  • Nice-to-have: knowledge of collateral systems, data flows, and overall operating model, but candidate will be trained on collateral if background is primarily custody-related

  • Ability to escalate risks and decision points quickly to the appropriate stakeholders, whether that be functional leadership, digital leadership, and/or project leadership

  • Ability to review and vet a new operating model for viability and alignment to our existing infrastructure

  • Experience executing on a project as a critical stakeholder, including excellent time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Experience in collateral or general custody operations and strong working knowledge of day-to-day collateral or general custody responsibilities and processes

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline

  • Ability to excel when faced with the unknown and challenged to develop new ways

  • Excellent communication and escalation ability

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and external stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience with digital assets and wallets, distributed ledger technology, tokenization is preferred

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $130,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
