PAY RANGE


The Target Pay Range for this position is $26.35-$32.12 hourly. The full Pay Range is $21.65-$38.03 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Collection & Recovery Support Specialist, you'll play a meaningful role in helping BECU support its members and protect financial well-being. In this role, you'll work across Portfolio Management teams-like Loss Management and Loan Loss Recovery-where your attention to detail and problem-solving mindset help ensure critical financial processes run smoothly.

You'll use your expertise and curiosity to navigate systems, manage transactions, and keep operations accurate and efficient. More importantly, your contributions help create better outcomes for both members and the organization-making your work not just important, but impactful every day.


This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week in the Tukwila headquarters office, with occasional additional on-site needs.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Ensure Compliance: You'll uphold BECU competencies and follow all regulatory, compliance, and information security standards-helping maintain trust and integrity in everything you do.
  • Manage System Transitions: You'll process system updates and transactions that move accounts from active status to charge-off, and support involuntary closures for revolving and deposit accounts with accuracy and care.
  • Support Loan Modifications: You'll partner with teams like Bankruptcy, Loss Management, and Member Assistance to help facilitate loan modifications-ensuring processes are handled smoothly and effectively.
  • Coordinate Debt Management Requests: You'll handle requests and communications related to external debt management programs, ensuring timely and thoughtful responses.
  • Balance and Reconcile Accounts: You'll collaborate with Accounting to balance general ledgers, investigate discrepancies, and resolve out-of-balance conditions-keeping financials aligned and reliable.
  • Protect Confidential Information: You'll handle sensitive member and employee information with discretion and professionalism, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Respond to Inquiries: You'll provide timely, courteous, and solution-oriented responses to both internal and external inquiries, creating a positive experience for everyone you interact with.
  • Support Team Operations: You'll monitor department inboxes, process incoming mail, and step in where needed-ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience in collections, lending, or forced placed insurance


Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience at BECU or another financial institution
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to make recommendations based on information obtained
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment
  • Ability to work well under deadlines
  • Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate and provide customer service
