Are you a collaborative leader with a passion for library services and operational excellence? We are seeking a Collection Services Manager to oversee the daily operations and staff within the librarys Collection Services Division. In this role, you will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to a dedicated team. You will help ensure efficient workflows, maintain high standards of service, and support the librarys mission by fostering a productive, customer-focused work environment. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and contributing to the success of a dynamic library system.

Typical Task:

  • Lead and oversee library collections, acquisitions, cataloging, processing, and digital services.
  • Manage Collection Services staff by providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.
  • Develop and evaluate print, digital, and electronic collections to meet community needs.
  • Oversee division budgets, vendor contracts, and digital subscription services.
  • Implement new technologies and collaborate with City IT on library systems and technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate collection development, weeding practices, and Integrated Library System (ILS) operations.
  • Represent Collection Services in leadership meetings and support strategic planning across the library system.

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited college or university or a closely related field of study.
  • Five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in Cataloging, Acquisitions, Collection Management, Digital Services, or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
  • Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.

Additional Requirements

  • The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
