At Managed Resources (MRI), we don’t just manage revenue cycle operations — we help healthcare organizations recover revenue, maintain compliance, and navigate complex challenges with confidence. Since our founding in 1994 in Long Beach, California, we’ve partnered with leading healthcare systems across the country, delivering results from the Hawaiian Islands to the East Coast.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Collections Analyst to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring our clients receive accurate and timely reimbursement by managing insurance follow-up, resolving denials, and identifying opportunities to optimize collections performance.
What You’ll Do
  • Manage insurance follow-up for assigned inpatient and outpatient accounts
  • Investigate and resolve denials and underpayments through payer outreach and appeal submissions
  • Review remittance advice (RA) and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to ensure proper reimbursement
  • Verify billing accuracy for both electronic and paper claims submissions
  • Document all account activity thoroughly and accurately for effective follow-up
  • Analyze trends in denials and collections to recommend process improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet monthly collection goals
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve claim issues or patterns impacting reimbursement
  • Maintain accurate and timely processing of all incoming documentation (payer correspondence, medical records, etc.)
  • Support overall team operations, including backup coverage as needed
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in medical or healthcare collections
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and revenue cycle processes
  • Experience working with appeals, denials, and payer follow-up
  • Familiarity with Epic, UB-04, and CMS 1500 forms
  • Ability to interpret payer contracts (e.g., stop loss, per diem, case rates, carve-outs)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet production and quality standards
Why Join MRI?
  • Work with a nationally recognized leader in revenue cycle management
  • Gain exposure to complex, high-impact healthcare challenges
  • Be part of a collaborative, results-driven team
  • Opportunities to contribute ideas and improve processes
Benefits
  • 401(k) + company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Referral program
