Collections & Billing Specialist

We are seeking a Collections & Billing Specialist for one of our clients who takes ownership of AR transactions, builds relationships with customers to resolve delinquent accounts, and ensures payments are collected efficiently. This role sits within Accounting department and reports directly to the Controller.

Pay:$30.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM as needed

Essential Responsibilities

• Contact customers by phone and written correspondence to resolve and update accounts
• Prepare daily cash deposits as needed
• Post finalized cash receipts and maintain the AR ledger by customer
• Provide invoice and statement copies to customers upon request
• Process daily credit card deposits
• Handle monthly fee billing as needed
• Research and process customer claims of invoice payment
• Process and credit charge backs and returns
• Respond to AR phone inquiries in a timely manner
• Review, monitor, and maintain customer credit and purchasing limits
• Assist with related special projects as required

Qualifications

• Prior collections experience is required
• 2–3 years of accounts receivable experience
• Enjoys client outreach and delivers excellent customer service
• Warm, personable communicator with a passion for building client relationships
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid comprehension, time management, and decision-making abilities
• Comfortable working with figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet
• Experience with accounting software
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or at least six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
