Position Overview
The Collections Move Coordinator will support the planning and execution of a large-scale collections relocation project by working closely with multiple departments to inventory, document, track, and prepare collection assets for transport and rehousing. This part-time position requires a highly organized individual who can work both collaboratively and independently to ensure the accurate management and movement of collection materials.
Responsibilities include conducting detailed inventories; cataloging and updating collection records; reconciling object data; and maintaining accurate documentation within spreadsheets, databases, and collections management systems. The Collections Move Coordinator will assist with object identification, labeling, location tracking, and the creation of packing and movement documentation to support the safe relocation of collections.
The successful candidate will help maintain data integrity throughout the project by verifying object records, updating location information, and ensuring adherence to established collections management procedures and professional standards. They will coordinate with Collections staff to facilitate workflows, monitor project progress, and address discrepancies that arise during inventory and move activities.
 
Required Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collections database management software.
• Experience with object handling.
• Ability to perform highly detailed work across multiple concurrent tasks.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach as required by the role.
 
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or experience working in collections, archives, or a similar environment.
