Cyprus Credit Union is looking for a Collections Officer I who can balance effective collections with exceptional member service. You'll work directly with members to resolve delinquent accounts, understand their individual circumstances, and identify appropriate solutions while protecting the Credit Union's interests.If you're a strong communicator who can navigate difficult conversations with professionalism, empathy, and confidence, we'd love to meet you.What You'll DoContact members regarding delinquent loans and accounts to identify solutions and establish appropriate payment arrangements.Manage collection activity across consumer loans, credit cards, lines of credit, real estate loans, and home equity lines of credit.Review account activity and determine appropriate next steps based on the member's circumstances and account status.Explain payment options, potential collection actions, and available financial resources clearly and professionally.Use strong communication and de-escalation skills to navigate challenging member interactions while maintaining a positive Credit Union experience.Document collection activity, member conversations, payment arrangements, and correspondence accurately.Monitor delinquent accounts, loan extensions, collateral insurance, and other account activity requiring follow-up.Research accounts and prepare documentation for potential charge-offs.Follow applicable collection laws, regulations, Credit Union policies, and confidentiality requirements.What You'll BringHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous collections experience within a financial institution is preferred.Knowledge of collection practices and applicable laws and regulations.Understanding of lending and loan products preferred.Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to remain professional and solution-focused during difficult conversations.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.ScheduleMonday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, with rotating late shifts from 10:00 AM–7:00 PM and rotating Saturdays from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.Why Cyprus Credit Union?At Cyprus Credit Union, we invest in our employees and provide opportunities to learn, grow, and build a long-term career.
