Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free workspace and sufficient internet connection.Job SummaryUnder direct supervision, the Collections Representative is responsible for collecting delinquent accounts by phone or correspondence. Uses a computerized system for tracking, information gathering, and troubleshooting. The representative answers basic inquiries or resolves problems by following routine procedures and processes.Job ResponsibilitiesCollect on assigned delinquent accounts by telephone or correspondence.Support dialer function through outbound manual dialer campaign.Assign accounts to agencies for repossession, skip‑tracing, or in‑person collection activity when approved by appropriate authority.Process and/or assign accounts to Adjustment Queue for payment re‑allocations and fee/balance waivers when applicable.Understand and adhere to company collection and extension policies, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and confidentiality and privacy issues.Use effective time management to ensure a satisfactory customer service experience.Take all necessary steps to protect the company's interests.Protect information and comply with the law; maintain awareness of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent RequiredExperience RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of related customer service or collections experience.Adherence to high ethical standards of truthfulness, honesty and fairness.Ability to prioritize workflow to meet department objectives.Proficient with computer systems and keyboarding/data entry skills with moderate speed and accuracy.Detail‑oriented and highly organized with exceptional written communication skills and the ability to articulate information tactfully and professionally.Critical thinking, analytical, and effective negotiation skills; ability to handle a large volume of collection accounts and inbound/outbound calls.Flexible and open‑minded with a teamwork orientation and ability to influence acceptance of change.Self‑motivated, professional with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.Ability to work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.Harley-Davidson is an equal opportunity employer that continues to build a culture of inclusion, belonging, and equity through our commitment to attracting and retaining diverse talent from all backgrounds, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role.
