College Counselor - Job Description

La Salle Academy, an all-male college preparatory high school, seeks an experienced college counselor. Located in the East Village neighborhood of New York City, La Salle Academy is a small school with a 177 year history that enrolls a culturally diverse student population. It is a member of the international network of Lasallian Schools.

Education: Master's Degree or higher.

Experience: 3-5 years of college counseling experience desired. However, those with less experience may be considered. Familiarity/expertise with Naviance, The Common Application, and the CUNY application preferred. FACTS SIS knowledge a bonus.

Timeframe: End-August- June 30th .

Duties:

• Guide 11th and 12th grade students through the college application process.
• Critique college essays.
• Process college applications.
• Offer academic and personal counseling to the students.
• Communicate with parents, students, faculty, and administration regularly.
• Advertise and monitor college representative visits.
• Keep detailed accurate records.

Salary: $56,719 + starting salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
