As a college counselor, you are responsible for helping students navigate the college experience, admissions process, and develop academic plans of study and prepare for their post-secondary education goals. As well as use assessments to help students identify their interests, strengths, and potential career paths.
Offer emotional support, crisis intervention, and strategies for social and behavioral challenges for students and employees. As the college counselor, you will collaborate with students, instructors, and administrators to support student goals and coordinate programs.
Designing and leading workshops on college readiness, test-taking, and life skills may be asked of you. This position will assist faculty and students with counseling needs and learning experiences.
