Student Engagement Administration is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join the already awesome team, taking the department to the next level of excellence!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Human Resources Coordinator will manage and support the Human Resource activity of several departments in Student Engagement including recruitment, classification, records management, employee relations, training, payroll, and performance evaluations.

Employment & Retention:

  • Manage the job posting process for staff, temporary, and rehire retiree positions for Student Engagement.
  • Coordinate and participate in the recruitment activities (full-time staff, student assistants, graduate assistants, temporary staff, panther temps).
  • Review staff hiring recommendations and documents for accuracy and coordinate divisional approval.
  • Assist departments with the on-boarding process.
  • Advise departments on the classification process. Review position classification and/or compensation adjustments documentation and coordinate divisional approval.

Payroll/Compensation & Records Management:

  • Initiate new hires, terminations, salary and job title updates.
  • Assist managers with resolving payroll and timecard discrepancies.
  • Serve as the liaison between Time and Absences, Payroll, HCM and the departments.

Human Resource Support/ Assistance for Supporters

  • Advise managers on personnel and performance-related issues and consequences.
  • Advise managers on HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide customer service by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assist with the annual performance evaluation process.
  • Advise staff on HR systems and train employees as needed.
  • Assist with special projects.

Qualifications

:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor''s degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Requirements:

  • Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft/Workday HR, or similar robust HRIS systems.
  • Experience in a higher education HR setting.
  • Experience onboarding and training staff.
  • Experience working in a university setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
