General Statement

Make history and join our college in transforming nursing education and healthcare in Montana! Through the generous philanthropic investment of $101 million from Mark and Robyn Jones, the founders of Goosehead Insurance, we have constructed five new nursing education buildings (one on each of the nursing campuses), expanded our endowed professorships and student scholarships, and started Montana's first Nurse Midwifery program.

The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing (MRJCON) offers a baccalaureate in nursing, accelerated baccalaureate in nursing, Master of Nursing focused on clinical leadership, and Doctor of Nursing Practice with focus as a family nurse practitioner, psych-mental health nurse practitioner, or nurse-midwife. The College has five campus locations across the state, located in Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Kalispell, and Missoula.

The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing is seeking to hire 3-7 assistant professors as a cohort to start January 1, 2027. Faculty representing a variety of backgrounds to assume tenure track positions in various specialty areas are sought. Faculty members have opportunities to teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. Tenure track faculty members are expected to establish a focused program of research relevant to Montana and to successfully seek extramural funding. All members of the faculty are expected to engage in college and university service and to provide nursing leadership in Montana and beyond through active participation in professional nursing organizations. Duties and Responsibilities

The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing is seeking nursing faculty to assume tenure track positions in a variety of specialty areas. Faculty members have opportunities to teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. Tenure track faculty members are expected to establish a focused program of research relevant to Montana and to successfully seek extramural funding. All members of the faculty are expected to engage in professional/college/university service and to provide nursing leadership in Montana and beyond through active participation in professional nursing organizations. Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Doctorate in nursing or related field (ABD nearing completion may be considered).
• Record of or demonstrable potential for excellence in teaching.
• Record of excellence or demonstrable potential for excellence in research/scholarship in an area of direct applicability to the college of nursing.
• Evidence of strong written communication skills.
• Evidence of service to the nursing profession/nursing education/rural nursing

Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Graduate degree in nursing or related field.
• Eligibility for RN licensure in Montana.
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Experience with simulation pedagogy and distance delivery of education.
• Demonstrated potential or ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Potential to foster and support student and faculty of many backgrounds.

The Successful Candidate Will

The successful applicant will be committed to excellence in teaching nursing courses as well as in developing a program of funded research that is directly relevant to nursing profession and in disseminating that work through peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, this individual will demonstrate the commitment to being a collaborative team member in the College, to supporting the mission of the College, and to working in a collegial manner with health care professionals external to the university. Applicants will be required to actively participate in activities related to cohort-hire success including research training, regular group and individual mentoring meetings, and writing retreats.
