Basic Function
The Collision Repair "A" Body/Refinisher must have a thorough knowledge of collision repair/refurbishment on METRO's revenue vehicles as required for job classification. Additionally, the Collision Repair "A" Body/Refinisher must show a proficient knowledge and use of equipment and specialized tools related to classification requirements. The Collision Repair "A" Body/Refinisher must possess the ability and skills to diagnose problems and efficiently perform all phases of paint and body repairs in a timely and safe manner under the supervision of a Mechanical Foreman. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
Identifies and orders parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
Completes all required reports and records in a timely and accurate fashion.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from a related technical school is preferred.
Years & Experience Required
Requires successful completion of the METRO Collision Repair "B" Training Module.
Candidates with ASE Collision Certification and/or collision repair experience will undergo assessment and
be placed accordingly within their skill level grade classification.
Knowledge & Skills Required
Automotive Service Excellence Certification (ASE) required: B2 Painting and Refinishing, B3 Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair. A valid Commercial Texas Driver's License "P" Passenger endorsement is required and must meet METRO's requirements regarding motor vehicle records. The ability to drive any Authority owned vehicle. Able to maintain or obtain additional certification/licenses as required. Possess complete knowledge of all tools and equipment in shop related to job classification. Must maintain a basic set of personal hand tools to perform repairs related to job classification with exception of specialized tools provided by METRO. Ability to complete written reports, records and forms. Must be able to speak, read and write English.
