Greeneview Local Schools is looking for a Color Guard Advisor for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a supplemental position.

The Color Guard Advisor is responsible for leading and developing the school's color guard program in support of the marching band and related performing arts activities. The instructor provides instruction in choreography, movement, equipment technique, performance skills, and teamwork while fostering a positive, disciplined, and inclusive environment for students.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct rehearsals for the color guard program.
  • Teach flag, rifle, saber, dance, and movement techniques appropriate to student skill levels.
  • Develop and coordinate choreography for halftime performances, competitions, parades, and special events.
  • Collaborate with the band director and other staff to align performances with the marching band program.
  • Promote high standards of sportsmanship, professionalism, discipline, and student conduct.
  • Assist with preparation for performances, competitions, camps, and community events.
  • Supervise students during rehearsals, performances, travel, and other assigned activities.
  • Maintain inventory and care of equipment, uniforms, and related materials.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, safety procedures, and eligibility requirements.
  • Support student growth, confidence, teamwork, and leadership development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in color guard, marching band, dance, or related performance activities preferred.
  • Previous instructional or coaching experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Ability to supervise students in a variety of settings and maintain appropriate student conduct.
  • Must meet all district employment and background check requirements.
