Job Summary
General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sr Space Systems Engineer to join our team located in Englewood, CO. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the successful design, integration, and verification of GA-EMS developed SV constellations with their associated ground and launch systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sr Space Systems Engineer responsible for:
Leading design and development of space system, segment and satellite subsystem design, integration and test.
Applies systems engineering principles, including requirements development, verification, validation, and interface management.
Interfaces with customers during program shaping, CONOPS development, Mission Architecture definition, and requirements derivation activities.
Leads analysis and decomposition of system and subsystem requirements, and development of interface control documents.
Applies basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems.
Prepares technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with all levels of program and engineering staff on design, integration and test matters and support other teams/disciplines as necessary.
Establish collaborative work relationships with peers to ensure synergy across space, ground, and launch.
Uses traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches lead and contribute to the development all SE work products which may include:
CONOPS
System Architecture
Requirements and Interface Control Documents
Mission and System Analysis
Trade Studies
