Base salary plus two-tiered bonus plan based on score card initiatives and production.

Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic (CC) and the Department of Surgery, Section of General Surgery in Roanoke, Virginia are searching for a fellowship trained colorectal surgeon to join our team of two experienced fellowship trained colorectal surgeons. Our clinic-based, academic program has remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical care. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic, academic multi-specialty group practice providing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care. Our practice and regional referral pattern have led to an influx of patients requiring high levels of complex care. Our colorectal program is a CoC accredited cancer center and routinely a top-performing program.

Based at the Level-1 763-bed trauma and academic health center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, our program provides comprehensive surgical coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area. Colorectal surgery is also provided in several other Carilion hospitals, including Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and our surgeons perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity.

Carilion Clinic operates 7 hospitals, 295 outpatient clinics, 862 physicians representing more than 86+ specialties, along with 350 residents and fellows in 30 accredited ACGME programs. Education and research activities and opportunities abound through our intimate relationships with the Virginia Tech Carillon School of Medicine (VTCSOM), the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) at VTC, Virginia Tech proper, and Radford University. We are actively involved in the education of medical students, residents from multiple CC-VTC and outside training programs, allied health science students, and Virginia Tech undergraduate and graduate students. The Carilion Clinic General Surgery residency has a decades long history and has continued to grow and expand over the years. The CC-VTC system stands on the brink of unprecedented expansion and opportunity through the burgeoning relationship with Virginia Tech. The position offers an academic appointment at VTCSOM.
