The purpose of the Painter is to:
Uphold Colossal’s high standards of quality and professionalism by executing a broad scope of tasks, including painting, rigging support, pre-production, and on-site operations .
Build upon the foundational skills developed as an apprentice to support Leads at job sites, using the role as a stepping stone toward leadership by refining technical and organizational expertise .

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Painting Excellence: Build upon foundational expertise to apply techniques, including painting Graphic and Complex Graphic designs, while demonstrating openness to learning Non-Organic and Complex Non-Organic techniques, blending, mixing, and working on various surfaces . Consistently meet Colossal's standards for technical precision, speed, and efficiency in high-pressure production environments .
Apprentice Mentorship: Mentor apprentices by sharing knowledge and fostering skill development .
Pre-Production Mastery: Master pre-production processes, including the visual language, general breakdown process of artworks, artwork categories, patterning techniques, burning, pouncing, handling artwork matchprints and acetates, and applying practical mathematics to ensure precision and readiness for production .
Pre-Production Leadership: Lead pre-production tasks such as coating out, handling patterns, pouncing, and artwork acetate preparation .
Shop Maintenance: Take ownership of an orderly shop by driving our essential upkeep practices, learning and executing our daily task cadence, preparing for and cleaning up after new jobs, overseeing organization and inventory systems, managing quart cleaning, paint consolidation, and more .
Job Site & Ground Support: Excel in job site organization, maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly workspace, packing and shipping gear, conducting wall measuring protocols, serving as ground support on-site, and leading street-level job sites while managing small teams, problem-solving, and meeting project deadlines .
Rigging & Leadership Training: Engage in comprehensive training to understand and apply technical rigging processes and participate in mock leadership opportunities to practice instructing and mentoring others to ensure safety and operational excellence .
Expense Management: Accurately file all expenses on time, demonstrating responsibility in using the company card for approved purchases while adhering strictly to company policies and maintaining detailed records to ensure accountability .
Field Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot challenges in the field and on job sites by showcasing strong problem-solving skills, developing effective time management strategies, and ensuring smooth operations while meeting project goals and maintaining quality standards .
Safety & Collaboration: Maintain a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment by adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the responsible operation of all company tools and vehicles .

Schedule Flexibility: Maintain flexibility to be on-site or on-call during scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends, in-market or out-of-town, to meet project demands .
Daily Reporting: Accurately photograph and document daily job reports (Middle-of-Day and End-of-Day logs), including job status, troubleshooting, and tasks performed using Slack, to keep the operations and sales team updated with a positive, respectful, proactive, and solution-minded approach .
Media Alignment: Follow the company's social media policy and provide consent for interviews, quotes, photographs, and video recordings as needed while striving to maintain a positive and professional online presence.
