Location: Onsite - Columbus, Georgia
Compensation: Unpaid (College Credit Available)

About the Opportunity:
The Columbus River Dragons are seeking motivated, outgoing, and dedicated individuals to join our internship program for the 2026-27 season. This opportunity is ideal for current college students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in professional sports while contributing to one of the premier organizations in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL).

Interns will work directly with team staff, assist with daily operations, support game-day execution, and gain valuable insight into the business side of professional hockey.

Areas of Opportunity


Game Operations
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of game-day and event operations.
  • Execute in-game promotions, contests, and fan engagement activities.
  • Support sponsor activations, giveaways, and promotional events.
  • Coordinate and assist participants for on-ice and intermission activities.
  • Represent the organization at community appearances and special events.
  • Provide excellent customer service to fans, partners, and guests.
  • Assist the Game Operations staff with additional duties as needed to ensure a successful event experience.
Marketing & Content Creation
  • Assist with social media and promotional campaigns
  • Capture photo and video content at games and events
  • Support content creation, graphic design, and video editing projects
Broadcasting & Media Relations
  • Assist with live game broadcasts, including setup, operation, and breakdown
  • Support production of pregame and postgame content
  • Assist with media requests, credentials, and press box operations
  • Coordinate with broadcasters, media outlets, and league personnel
Merchandise Operations
  • Assist with team store inventory management
  • Support merchandise sales and online order fulfillment
  • Maintain displays and assist with restocking
Community Relations & Events
  • Assist with school visits, team appearances, and community events
  • Support fan engagement initiatives and promotional activities
  • Help coordinate mascot appearances and outreach programs

Internship Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a four-year college or university (high school seniors will also be considered)
  • Preferred majors include Sports Management, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related fields
  • Reliable transportation and housing in the Columbus, GA area
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
Schedule & Duration
  • Start Date: Immediate.
  • Flexible duration based on intern goals and availability.
  • Summer, semester-long, full-season, and extended internship options available.
  • Flexible scheduling may be available around class schedules and other commitments.

  • This is an unpaid internship; college credit may be available
  • Completion of the internship does not guarantee future employment
  • Interns are expected to maintain professional conduct and represent the organization positively at all times
