Summary

Thank you for your interest in placement with Colville School District. This role provides hands-on classroom experience under the guidance of experience educators. Interns will gain practical teaching skills, participate in classroom instruction, and contribute to a positive learning environment for all students.

Essential Duties

• Assist the Cooperating Teacher with planning and delivering daily lessons
• Provide small-group or one-on-one instructional support.
• Observe, model, and practice effective classroom management strategies.
• Assist with grading, attendance, and classroom organization.
• Implement differentiated instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent communication activities as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and follow all district policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited teacher preparation program.
• Eligible for student teaching, practicum, or internship placement per university requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Background check and fingerprint clearance (fingerprints required if they are not already on file with O.S.P.I.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children or youth in educational or community settings.
• Familiarity with instructional technology and digital tools commonly used in K-12 schools.
• Understanding of culturally responsive or trauma-informed practices.
